Cremona Sera – Massimiliano Salini re-elected in Europe for the third time with Forza Italia-Noi Moderati: over 32 thousand preferences

He was the only Cremonese candidate for the European Parliament and was re-elected. Massimiliano Salini will be in Europe for the third time after having collected over 32 thousand preferences in the North West constituency. This is an extraordinary result for the European Parliamentarian who carried out a very intense electoral campaign (with the headquarters of his committee under the 25 April Gallery), rewarded by the voters. In fact, the secretary and foreign minister Tajani was the most voted, followed by Moratti and immediately after by Salini.

We remind you that Massimiliano Salini, 51 years old, was president of the Province of Cremona from 2009 to 2014, and at the end of his mandate he ran for the European Parliament with the New Center-Right-Union of Center list. With 27,000 preferences he is the first of the non-elected and enters the European Parliament following the renunciation of the seat by the then Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Maurizio Lupi. He joins the parliamentary group of the European People’s Party and is a member of the “Transport and Tourism” Commission and substitute member of the “Industry, Research and Energy” Commission. In September 2015 he left the New Center-Right to join Forza Italia.

He is running again in the 2019 European elections in Forza Italia, also supported by the Christian Workers Movement. He will be re-elected in second place behind Silvio Berlusconi with 37,000 votes. Then the re-nomination and re-election in 2024.
