European elections: in Tuscany the Democratic Party is the first party but Meloni is the most voted. Fdi is the second largest force in the region. M5s and Lega retreat.

With the counting practically complete, the European elections in Tuscany show the Democratic Party as the leading political force in the region, with 31.91% and 527,265 votes, down compared to the 622,934 (equal to 33.31%) of the similar round in 2019, but improving compared to the 2022 policies, when in the Senate, the best result, 495,529 votes (26.4%).

In second place is Fdi with 27.42% and 453,198 preferences, which makes a real leap forward compared to the previous European ones. In 2019 Giorgia Meloni’s party obtained 92,233 votes, reaching 4.93%, and today it has a ‘substitution effect’ compared to the League which in 2019 ‘scored’ 588,727 votes (31.48%) while today the Northern League stops at 6.21% with 102,595 preferences (in line with the 123,321 in the Chamber of Politics), led by General Roberto Vannacci, voted by 37,028 voters. Slight decline for Fdi compared to the 2022 policies when, in the Chamber, it obtained 487,339 votes (26%).

The third political force in the region is M5s which obtained 8.2% and 135,775 votes, significantly downsized compared to 2019, when it obtained 237,109 preferences, equal to 12.68%. Also decreasing compared to politics: 212,103 preferences in the Senate (11.3%). With 124,800 votes, equal to 7.55%, Avs is the fourth force in the region (increasing compared to the policies where in the Chamber it recorded 92,584 votes and 4.9%), followed by Forza Italia at 6.28% and 103,720 preferences . Above the threshold IV and +Europe with the United States of Europe standing at 4.8%. Exploit for Pace Terra Dignità, which in its first electoral test obtained 3% with 49,536 preferences, placing itself above Action which stopped at 2.81% and 46,375 votes. The ‘champion’ of preferences, having obtained 125,560, is Giorgia Meloni, while the second most voted candidate is the outgoing mayor of Florence Dario Nardella with 60,436, which also exceeds the 50,458 preferences obtained by the Dem secretariat Elly Schlein.
