Four hours after the polls close (voting stops at 11pm), for European electionsin Puglia And Basilicata, one citizen in three voted. Low turnout it is also confirmed for the local elections in the main municipalities of the two regions.
Municipal elections
At 7pm, at Barivoted on 47.84% of those entitled to vote (at 1pm the figure was 33.59% while at 11pm yesterday, when the polls closed, 21.43%) had voted.
In the other provincial capital of Puglia to vote, Leccethe turnout at 7pm stood at 57.33% (at 1pm it was 42.83% while last night at 11pm it was 26.79%).
In Basilicata you vote in the capital Power. Here the turnout at 7pm is at 55% (yesterday evening, when the polls closed, it was at 22.81%, while at 12 today it was at 34.86%).
European elections
At Europeanat 7 pm, in Puglia voted the 32.94% of those entitled to participate (at 12pm the turnout percentage was 22.75% while at 11pm yesterday it was 13.96%).
It’s no better Basilicata where the percentage of turnout at 7pm is 31.56% (at 12pm it was 19.88%, at 11pm yesterday it was 12.30%).
In general, in the IV district, Southern Italythe turnout figure stands at 33.27%the lowest figure at a national level if the islands are excluded.
