The Lombardy Region has issued an orange alert due to the risk of strong thunderstorms in our area from 4pm today, Sunday 9 June, until 6am on Monday 10 June.

The collapse of the anticyclonic promontory over the Mediterranean allows the transit of a cooler depression core over central and northern Italy, with an increase in instability during today, Sunday 9 June. From the central hours of the day, scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible across Lombardy with a greater probability of strong thunderstorms from mid-afternoon, which will initially affect the western sectors and which, during the day, will intensify and move onto the central plain. In the night between today and Monday the phenomena will be attenuating and moving towards the East.

The removal of the low depression will leave the region during tomorrow, Monday 10 June, a weakly unstable flow from the West-Southwest which will intensify the diurnal cycle: probable showers or local thunderstorms are expected on the reliefs in the central hours, extending to the plains in the evening and at night.

The Lombardy Region Natural Risk Monitoring Functional Center will evaluate the new scenarios during the morning of Monday 10 June for the possible issuing of alert codes valid for the second part of the day.

The Municipality has already taken steps to put the Local Police, AEM SpA and Padania Acque SpA on pre-alert so that they are ready in case of need. Citizens are invited to pay particular attention in cases where their homes are located in areas easily subject to flooding, as well as to avoid traveling with their own vehicles unless strictly necessary.

Municipal Civil Protection workers are constantly monitoring the evolution of the situation.
