It ended around 3 in the morning 46th Macerata-Loreto Pilgrimage. Fervently promoted by Communion and Liberationthe pilgrimage which saw the participation of 60,000 faithful from all over the world.
The journey is long 27 kilometersrepresented a unique opportunity for spiritual communion and testimony of faith, with the day of Saturday 8 June which was characterized by intense moments of prayer and reflection. What resonated loudly in the hearts of all participants was the message from Pope Francis, who, addressing young pilgrims, encouraged them to dream of a better world and not to be discouraged by difficulties. The Holy Father urged everyone not to give in to mediocrity and to spread hope and positivity, remembering that faith is a response of love to be built every day.
The journey started from Villa Potenza Fair Centera place full of meaning since welcomed John Paul II in 1993. The Holy Mass at 8.30 pm was solemnly celebrated by Monsignor Rino FisichellaPresident of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization e Pope’s delegate for the 2025 Jubilee. During the celebration, Monsignor Fisichella made a call for prayer for all the wars underway in the world, with particular attention paid to Ukraine and the Middle East.
Under a starless sky, but with a mild temperature of around 22-23 degrees, the 60,000 pilgrims walked tenaciously throughout the night, in an atmosphere of communion and solidarity. The arrival in Loreto was greeted with emotion and joy, welcomed by spectacular fireworks that lit up the sky. The first stop a Sambuchetoa hamlet of the municipality of Recanati, saw Eucharistic adoration, while the second stage a San Firmano was characterized by the delivery of torches. The refreshment point a Clarino it offered a regenerating break with tea and sweets, reviving the pilgrims for the final stretch of the route.
