Frecciarossa train Milan-Venice: technical failure and heavy inconvenience

The Frecciarossa in question left at 5pm on Saturday 8 June from Venice. Everything went smoothly until the station Brescia. Here the convoy, after the stop, resumed its journey around 7pm, but shortly afterwards had to stop due to a technical issue.

From what emerged, there was also aelectricity failure on board. The passenger journey has turned into a odyssey. The temperature in the carriages began to rise due to the heat. Severe inconveniences have been reported.

“We have been in the dark ever since, without air conditioning and the heat is increasing more and more.” This is the story live and reported by Tgr Lombardia of Giovanna, a doctor present on the train who was returning from a conference.

“They gave us water and snacks, but we cannot get off the train, nor open the doors to let some air in,” added the woman.

“We made calls to Trenitalia, the police and ambulances,” explained another passenger who then expressed all his disbelief at the situation that had arisen: “Crazy. It’s painful to see elderly people and children at their limits…”.

After more than two hours of forced stoppage of the vehicle, around 9.30 pm, Trenitalia set up a rescue locomotive. Despite this, the train continued to travel at a slow pace. He also got arrested again.

Finally, more or less at 11pm, another convoy arrived which allowed the travelers to reach the final destination, that is, Milan, around midnight.

Trenitalia announced that it had done its utmost to promptly activate the rescue intervention by providing assistance to passengers, both on board during the stop and when there was the longed-for arrival at Milan Central Station. A similar case occurred last summer on the Florence-Rome line.
