The cultural event that celebrates the transformative (and catastrophic) power of desperation continues. Tomorrow, Monday 10 June, at the Episcopal Seminary of Andria the fourth day of meetings with Vito Mancuso, Ilaria Gaspari, Anna Voltaggio and Massimiliano Loizzi. The festival will continue until June 16th.
ANDRIA, 9 June – The Festival of Despair continues tomorrow, Monday 10 June 2024 in the spaces of the Episcopal Seminary of Andria, with a new week full of meetings, discussions and shows. Organized by the Readers’ Club and with the artistic direction by Gigi Brandonisiothe festival, now in its eighth year, celebrates all the potential of error in literature and everyday life, with the motto “As you make mistakes”. The cultural event will continue until Sunday 16 June.
THE PROGRAM FOR MONDAY 10 JUNE
What relationship do we have today, in the age of social networks, between our appearance and our identity? How easily do we tend to abandon ourselves to the memory of a nostalgic past rather than live our present? The writer Anna Voltaggio and the philosopher Ilaria Gaspari they will try to answer questions like these in a “daring” comparison between the feeling of nostalgia and the concept of reputation (7pm, entry with reservation).
Next, the theologian Vito Mancuso will lead a meeting on the meaning of hope – the opposite feeling to despair – and on the search for meaning in human life (8.15 pm).
The same evening, at 9.30pm, the public will have the opportunity to embark on a journey between comedy and tragedy with the actor, comedian and well-known face of Il Terzo Segreto di Satire Massimiliano Loizzi. With a unique show that plays with the idea of the end of the world, Loizzi will invite us to reflect on the challenges of life today, offering us a provocative and engaging vision of contemporary society and its contradictions.
