“Damned fate,” comments an acquaintance on social media. That of Angelo Bellachioma, over sixty years old from Terni, motorbike lover and now retired former postal police officer, is a “cursed destiny” shared with two other people. In fact, in the last few days three people have lost their lives on the Umbrian roads.
Accident on the Valnerina On Saturday afternoon Angelo was driving his motorbike along the Valnerina Ternana (state road 209 Valnerina) between Torre Orsina and Arrone. A friend was also with him, who was traveling on a second two-wheeled vehicle. It should have been a leisure afternoon but instead the man never returned home. The impact with a Fiat Panda left him no escape. The driver of the car and the second centaur are injured, both in a state of shock. 118 operators, firefighters and law enforcement arrive on site, but for Angelo there is nothing left to do. «You were a good, sensitive person, available to others. He is always ready to help others”, a friend recalls him, entrusting his dedication to social media. “Many knew you, few knew who you were,” someone else writes. The 67-year-old man leaves behind a wife and daughter. There were many messages of condolence and closeness to the two women from friends, acquaintances and people who, even by chance, had met Angelo at least once.
Massacre on the Umbrian roads This is the third fatal accident in the space of 24 hours. On Friday afternoon, 47-year-old Emanuele Picchio was riding his motorbike and returning home when he collided with a car in which there was a 25-year-old. And that impact along the road that connects Passignano to Tuoro sul Trasimeno was fatal for Emanuele. Only last week, a short distance from the site of the accident, Matteo Scopaioli, also 47 years old, lost his life and whose funeral was held on Saturday. A 23-year-old boy lost his life in the night between Friday and Saturday in Castiglion del Lago. The young man, according to initial reconstructions, was driving a car when, for reasons still under investigation, around 2am he hit first the pavement and then a pole, and then overturned his car and ended up in the center of the road . There was nothing that could be done for the boy either.
