A 32-year-old of Bulgarian origin domiciled in Viserba, in the Rimini area, was taken to prison on charges of having attempted to kill on the evening of May 19th a 29-year-old compatriot prostitute who was waiting for clients on a lay-by near the quarry ‘Manzona Vecchia’, just outside Ravenna. The man, as reported by Resto del Carlino, had fled abroad. But, now hunted by the Carabinieri of the Ravenna Investigation Unit coordinated by the Prosecutor Francesca Bugane ‘Pedretti and assisted by colleagues from Cervia-Milano Marittima, on Thursday he decided to turn himself in also on the advice of his lawyer Riccardo Luzi. His ex-wife, also Bulgarian, domiciled in Viserba and defended by the lawyer Massimiliano Orru’, is under investigation for aiding and abetting and subjected to an obligation to stay with a ban on going out in the evening. The 32-year-old had fired six shots at her 29-year-old, causing wounds to her arms and chest but failing to kill her only because she had run out of ammunition. Meanwhile, from the back seats of the BMW 5 series in which he had arrived at the pitch, a woman, in Bulgarian, was inciting him to kill the girl. At first the 32-year-old’s ex-wife was arrested on charges of complicity in murder: but then the judge excluded the necessary circumstantial evidence and the accusation was transformed into aiding and abetting. The 29-year-old for her part had immediately recognized the attacker but had not seen the woman’s face. The motive for the ambush, according to the investigators, is a sort of transversal revenge: the 32-year-old, who was looking for two other girls who were colleagues of the 29-year-old and her friends and roommates in Cesenatico (Forlì-Cesena), had come across her young girl and he had shot her. Everything was triggered by the desire of the two to no longer prostitute themselves for the man: one would even report him for exploitation.
