Crotone, ‘Abramo’ workers return electoral cards

“Whoever doesn’t care about the future of every Italian citizen doesn’t deserve our vote.”
This is what the workers of Abramo Customer Care wrote in the letter sent to the Prefect of Crotone to accompany the package in which they sent, by registered mail, around 200 electoral cards collected in recent days as a form of protest against the silence on their affair in which they are a total of one thousand jobs are at risk, half of which in Crotone.
“The workers of Abramo customer care spa – it is written in the letter – supported by numerous citizens of Crotone, hand over their ballot papers as a sign of protest for the silence around their situation which has been going on for years and is in its final stages.
An extreme gesture to highlight our profound frustration and the sense of abandonment we feel in the face of the inertia of the institutions.”
The precarious situation of Abramo CC has been known for at least two years now, since the company Abramo CC was subjected to extraordinary administration. The extension of the Tim contract expires on June 30th and 1,000 employees will be out of work from July 1st if something doesn’t happen at the Ministry of Business which announced a crisis table after the European elections.
In the meantime it was discovered that the ministry had authorized at the end of May the sale of the Abramo CC business unit linked to the Tim contract which employs 347 people. The transfer, however, does not involve hiring everyone and this does not please employees and unions.
