AGI – A simple exchange of words, which then degenerated into a heated argument, uttered on the stairs triggered the fury that led to the killing of a 61-year-old Albanian in Bibbiano, in the Reggio Emilia area. The one who stabbed him to death was a 41-year-old with mental problems linked to his addictions who was then rescued from the lynching of the crowd by the Carabinieri.
Ilirjan Minaj known as ‘Lili’, who moved several years ago from Albania to the Emilian country where he was well liked by everyone, would have made a joke while going to visit his niece who lives in the building not far from his home. A joke that didn’t go down well with Riccardo Stefani to the point that a violent argument arose between the two.
When Stefani returned to the house angrily, the 61-year-old knocked on the door which the 41-year-old opened brandishing a knife with which he hit the other in the chest, killing him instantly. All this happened just before 11pm on Friday. The police who intervened on the scene arrested the 41-year-old and had to keep a crowd of around thirty people at bay who wanted to lynch him. The man was locked up in the Reggio Emilia prison. The victim, who had a 19-year-old daughter in Bibbiano, did cleaning and maintenance work in the building where she lived.
