MASSA-CARRARA – The success of “Pulifondali” and “Pulispiagge”, the initiative carried out by FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing, Underwater Activities and Finswimming), is certified by the over 350 quintals of waste captured on the seabed and on the beaches of 40 various Italian locations by the members and volunteers involved on the occasion of the “World Environment Day”. With the collaboration of the General Command of the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard, of RAI, of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and of Suzuki, ghost nets (Amalfi and Conca dei Marini – SA), washing machines, old sewing machines, sunken hulls, marine engines and plastic. The latter is the sad queen of “Pulifondali” and “Pulispiagge”, the trait d’union that linked north to south, including the islands.
“Every year – explained Prof. Ugo Claudio Matteoli, President of FIPSAS – we ask our members to “give us” a day for the environment. Compared to last season, this time the locations that wanted to be present doubled. A beautiful signal that gives us the strength to continue on a path necessary for generations to come.”
