LAWN. Anti-inflammatories and antibiotics, but also contraceptives, slimming pills, Botox and drugs for erectile dysfunction: around fifty boxes of medicines found by municipal police officers in a herbalist’s shop in Via Pistoiese managed by a thirty-year-old Chinese citizen. During a routine check, the agents noticed on a shelf the presence of some boxes of slimming products classified as medicines, complete with regular label and coding of the Italian Medicines Agency and ascertained that the sales staff did not have the title of pharmacist.
47 packs of drugs were found in the shop, all subject to medical prescription, and botulinum vials with a commercial value of 385 euros per box. Not all the medicines were labeled with the Italian AIFA stamp, some boxes in fact carried the labeling of the corresponding agency in Greece, probably purchased by mail order from compliant pharmacies. All the medicines were placed under criminal seizure. The owner of the herbalist’s shop, out of town at the time of the investigation, and his employee were reported in competition for the illegal practice of the profession of pharmacist and now risk imprisonment from six months to three years and a fine of 10,000 to 50,000 euros.
