Luiss Roma says goodbye to Serie A2 with a victory against Latina

Luiss Roma takes leave of Serie A2 just as it began on October 1st: with a victory, 85 to 75 against Latina. The first season in the second national series therefore ends for the Romans, who had already been relegated for a few games, with 12 victories to their credit. And to think that, just a year ago, Luiss had just reached the final four promotions in Ferrara: in just under 365 days, everything happened, an incredible journey with a bitter ending.

The match – In today’s match, little more than a friendly for both teams, coach Paccariè used his entire bench and the match was all in all enjoyable. The first half was certainly the prerogative of the Pontini team, who took to the field with a better attitude, commanding both the first period (13-17) and at half-time (31-34).
In the second half the score changes thanks to a very prolific Luiss from the arc, with Pasqualin and Fallucca on the shields, who takes off in the central part of the third period (61-55 at 30′) and then closes it with six points equally distributed between Fallucca and Jovovic (81-70 at 36′).
At the end, a standing ovation for Domenico D’Argenzio, who reached a thousand points with this tank top and was applauded by his teammates and the public present.
We said a few lines above that the end of the season was bitter, but this year Luiss Roma has shown that it can compete according to its beliefs in these latitudes of basketball. For every end there is always a new beginning, that’s the beauty of sport: who knows what history Luiss Roma will write next season.
