European elections 2024, it’s time to vote

  • North Western (Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Liguria, Lombardy);
  • North Eastern (Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna);
  • Central (Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio);
  • Southern (Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia Basilicata, Calabria);
  • Insular (Sicily, Sardinia).

The countries that have already voted

It was the Netherlands that led the way in this cycle of European elections. On June 6th, from 7am to 9pm, The first consultations of the 27 states called to renew the seats in the European Parliament were held. In the Netherlands it is customary to vote on a weekday. According to the first exit polls by Ipsos, one of the most important market study and analysis centres, in the Netherlands the centre-left list, made up of the Labor Party and the Greens, but also the far right of the Freedom Party, would be in the lead. Freedom (PVV), which won the recent Dutch general elections and is preparing to form a government, would have achieved a good result.

In order not to interfere with the electoral processes underway in other countries, the results of the vote in the 2024 European elections nand the Netherlands will be revealed only at the end of the vote on the 27th, on Sunday evening after 11pm, when the polls close in Italy. The Polls opened in Ireland and the Czech Republic on 7 June, which will also keep the vote open on June 8th. On Saturday, however, we get to the heart of the contest for the vote of the majority of the 373 million eligible European voters. Polling stations open in Italy (where voting continues on Sunday 9th), Latvia, Slovakia and Malta. In all other countries voting takes place only on Sunday the 9th.
