_The careful checks of the Stasi council and the environmental department have produced complaints and complaints to the judicial authority regarding the modus operandi in the city’s cemeteries and revocation documents for service contracting companies_
CORIGLIANO-ROSSANO, 7 June 2024 – Legality. This has always been the guiding light of the Stasi administration over the last five years. And, without fear of any denial, the actions taken remain and will remain in the history of the city of Corigliano Rossano for having defended and protected the municipal house from malfeasance and conditioning.
This is the case of the revocation of the contract for the public greenery service to the successful cooperative due to “possible situations of mafia infiltration tending to influence the choices and directions of the company”. On the basis of the strict controls by the Stasi executive, the subsequent public greenery contract was also revoked, among other things, for “doubtful integrity and professional reliability” of the winning company. In both cases the companies did not even try to appeal to the Calabria regional administrative court for the annulment of the revocation measures.
As part of the purification, the municipal administration excluded from the contract and declared the tender deserted due to the participation of an economic operator, who had failed to declare a decree of indictment for crimes of corruption and extortion. The revocation by the environment sector of the Municipality of Corigliano-Rossano made it possible to preserve administrative integrity due to “the possible influences that could have resulted on the choices and directions”. In fact, the company subsequently ended up in the Scirocco operation of the Catanzaro DDA.
Even a contract relating to the maintenance of the road surface was revoked over the course of these years, because after the checks requested from the offices, there was a single decision-making center between participating companies: the companies were closely linked. As you will remember, I was the victim of heavy threats following my political activity, which certainly did not set back either me or the Stasi junta a single millimeter from pursuing the common good and the exclusive interest of the community.
I remember being intimidated, for example, after having started to regulate cemeteries, to verify hypothetical causes of malfeasance. Those findings revealed irregular land concessions, chapels under illegal construction, illegal sale of niches in private chapels, interns from the Calabria Region illegitimately hired by the contracting company and florists in front of the cemetery with irregular authorizations.
In self-protection, the Municipality of Corigliano-Rossano withdrew the irregular cemetery concessions, demolished illegal chapels, removed the interns of the Calabria Region from the Corigliano cemetery, declared the ineffectiveness of the florists’ authorizations in front of the Corigliano and Rossano cemeteries and seized kiosks for those of the Corigliano cemetery. And again the illegal sales of burial niches in private chapels were blocked with the related declaration of forfeiture of the concessionaires and the tender notice for the assignment of the votive electric lighting service in the municipal cemetery of Corigliano was revoked.
These measures triggered complaints and complaints from the mayor Flavio Stasi and myself to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, among other things, on irregular concessions, illegal construction of chapels or for the crimes of threats and defamation against irregular economic operators at the Corigliano cemetery .
Other actions undertaken by the joint administration also ended up under the magnifying glass of the investigating authorities.
And all this because the bar has always been kept straight on legality, the cornerstone of the Stasi administration which in the last five years has fought for a free, hard-working and honest Corigliano Rossano.
