Last musical appointment of “Umbria Factory Off” before resuming in September for the grand finale of the multidisciplinary event. The prelude to the summer break will be the music of the acoustic, electric and electronic ensemble Ethnet, scheduled for Saturday 8 June (9.15 pm) at the Subasio Theater in Spello, after the recent evocative concerts by the Bono-Purattini couple and the international multi-ethnic formation Le Cri du Caire, in Foligno and Montefalco respectively.
With Ethnet, whose name already evokes both ethnic music and a jazz combo, but also “net(work)”, the network, melodies and suggestions inspired by different traditions mix with Western improvisations, timbres and harmonies. As in a port of the past, where vessels loaded with goods emanating exotic and distant scents dock for a few days, with crews dressed in a bizarre way and with mysterious languages, so in Ethnet, ancient songs and traditional inspirations have the possibility of docking, becoming knowing, merging and becoming contaminated with the here and now of the ensemble, reliving a sort of new authenticity, through other instruments, other narratives and original arrangements.
The formation is made up of the singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist Manolo Rivaroli (voice, percussion, bouzouki), Gabriele Russo (violin, rebec, nickelharpa, voice), co-founder of the musical ensembles Micrologus (medieval) and Sonidumbra (traditional Umbrian), Francesco D’Oronzo (guitar, live electronics, vocals), collaborator among others of Maurizio Solieri, Marco Masini and Ramberto Ciammarughi, Luca Marzetti (bass, double bass, sitar, vocals), teacher, composer, multi-instrumentalist and scholar of sitar and Indian music , Francesco Speziali (percussion, vocals), drummer and percussionist in ensembles and musical groups with repertoires from pop to rock, from jazz to ethnic and traditional music. As guests there will be Stefania Romagnoli and Elisabetta Brodoloni, on vocals.
It will therefore once again be the protagonist sound of the multifaceted and versatile program of theatre, dance, music and performing arts events and shows created by ZUT! in fascinating locations in various municipalities of Umbria. “Umbria Factory Off” will then end in September with the preview of the new theatrical/installation project by Michele Bandini, developed in collaboration with the artist and architect Maël Veisse.

The review, section off of the UMBRIA FACTORY project, is an opportunity to keep attention alive on what is interesting in the Italian and foreign theatrical, performative and musical panorama to accompany the public to the next edition of the “Umbria Factory Festival”.
