The central defender has signed for Emma Villas: “There are good expectations, the hope is to replicate the good results of the last championship”
First words after returning to the Emma Villas Siena jersey for Andrea Rossi, a central defender born in 1989 who already played for the Sienese club in the 2021-2022 season. Andrea Rossi is the fifth piece in the biancoblu roster for the next sporting season: Siena had in fact previously announced the permanence of the setter Thomas Nevot, the purchase of the opposite Gabriele Nelli, the permanence of the central Stefano Trillini and the purchase of the spiker Claudio Cattaneo. Everyone will be under the guidance of the confirmed coach Gianluca Graziosi.
“My return to Siena is certainly special, I was also a bit surprised by the call – declares Andrea Rossi. – It seems like a lifetime has passed since I wore this shirt, but only two years have passed. I gladly return to an important place in Italian volleyball. There are good expectations after an excellent season just experienced by the Sienese club. It seems to me that the club is preparing an important roster, the team could also replicate the good results obtained in the championship that recently ended. Some players from the last roster remain, as well as coach Gianluca Graziosi, and this is an important fact. There are the conditions to do well.”
Andrea Rossi again: “In the next A2 series championship there will be high-level teams, I’m thinking of Catania who already seem to be ahead of everyone but I don’t forget Cuneo, Brescia, Ravenna. It will be essential to arrive in good condition at the crucial phase of the season, i.e. the playoffs.”
Then the centre-back returns to focus on the Sienese club: “I have always heard good things about coach Gianluca Graziosi from everyone, I believe he is an excellent and very valid coach and what’s more he already knows the Sienese environment well. Nellie? We faced each other several times as opponents. He has quality and an important physique, he can make the difference. Siena is a square that deserves to see some very good volleyball. There is attachment among the fans, we certainly want to do well and provide satisfaction. Furthermore, I am Tuscan, for me playing in Siena means staying in my land and returning home.”
