With a symbolic toast on the terrace of the former Picchiotti shipyard in the presence of the investor and the employees of the Maiora and AB Yacht shipyards, the restart of the Darsena was sealed. In fact, Next Group has concluded the process of acquiring the former Perini and former Picchiotti factories with the second batch of warehouses in the Darsena Italia which will result in new hires, the doubling of production and the redevelopment of the urban fabric through the recovery and valorisation of the sites .

In essence, Next Group _ which has taken over the historic Maiora and AB Yacht brands which will thus be relaunched _ has already invested 33 million and now another 16 are planned for the (already started) safety and functional recovery of the Picchiotti factory, as well as the modernization of the 4 thousand square meters of offices in the headquarters in via Coppino with the dock in front, where a canteen for the workers will also be created with very modern standards, so as to guarantee an efficient cutting-edge production basin in Darsena.

Next Group’s intervention is powerful given that the situation had been frozen for some time: first the bankruptcy of Perini, the consequent auction and the purchase by a company which, in fact, did not bring life back to that important reality of boating. Now, thanks to the commitment made by Nesti for the valorisation of Maiora and AB Yacht, one of the most important and vibrant factories in the sector will be created in a short time.

Direct and indirect hiring ready for dozens and dozens of jobs and an ambitious goal: with the new spaces it will in fact be possible to double production _ going from the current 9 to 18 boats per year _ significantly consolidating the role of the city as the nautical capital of the world.
