This morning, the “Commedia dell’Arte” exhibition, promoted by the Department of Culture, was inaugurated at the Torre Aidiante of the Carlo V Castle. The event brings together a physical representation of the design ideas relating to the “The mask of the city” competition, announced a few months ago by the department and which saw significant participation, especially from the school world.

“The idea of holding a competition to create an official city mask allowed us to experience an increased sense of social unity and sense of belonging to the community. We had great participation and the participation of the inmates of the prison who wanted to leave a sign of their creativity and imagination by retracing the history of the city was also particularly appreciable,” declared councilor Nicola Corigliano, present today at the exhibition together with many of the participants in the ideas competition.

Also present at the ceremony were Professor Cecilia Trocino and the director of the archaeological museum of Capo Colonna, Gregorio Aversa, members of the competition evaluation commission.

“We are particularly pleased to have involved students, teachers and citizens in a journey of creativity. The competition awarded a mask, Teorema, which will be the official mask of the city of Crotone, but all the works are worthy of appreciation and the exhibition aims to be a way of bringing the creativity of the participants to the attention of visitors. I also thank the associations that manage the Carlo V Castle for setting up the exhibition, which the beauty of the Helping Tower makes even more evocative,” concluded councilor Corigliano.

The exhibition will be open to the public until June 23rd with the following visiting hours:

  • Tuesday: from 9.30 to 12.30
  • Thursday: from 9.30 to 12.30
  • Friday: from 9.30 to 12.30
  • Saturday: from 9.30 to 12.30
  • Sunday: from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 16.00 to 19.00

The exhibition represents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the creativity of the local community, highlighting the talent and ingenuity of the competition participants, including the significant contributions of the prison inmates.
