In Bari a 33-year-old was investigated because he was allegedly guilty of having defaced buildings with protest graffiti
BARI – He is held responsible for having defaced various structures and properties in Bari including the monumental entrance to the cemetery, schools, credit institutions, union offices, cars and Italian Post offices in Bari. For this reason the police , after intense investigative activity directed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Bari and carried out by the agents of the Puglia Cyber Security Operations Center with the coordination of the Postal Police and Cyber Security Service, investigated a 33-year-old from Bari for association with crime, damage, defacement and soiling of other people’s property.
13 BUILDINGS IN BARI DESIGNED, COMPLAINED TO THE 33-YEAR-OLD INVESTIGATE
He is accused of at least thirteen episodes which occurred starting from October last year. In particular, the defacements that occurred: on 13 October 2023 on the monumental entrance of the cemetery of Bari in via Giovanni Laricchia, in the single local health authority district of via Giulio Petroni at the corner of via Pasubio and on the walls of the Adriatic Bridge via Nazariantz Hrand. As well as on 19 January 2024 at the Michelangelo state secondary school in viale Einaudi, at some Poste Italiane cars parked in the courtyard of the Bari Sud post office in viale Einaudi, at the regional headquarters and the service center of the Uil union both in via De Gasperi, at the facade of the Bari 18 post office, as well as on a wall of a pharmacy on Corso Benedetto Croce.
And, again, on 6 April 2024 at the Poggiofranco-T comprehensive institute. Flower in via Giacomo Tauro, in the headquarters of the Intesa Sanpaolo bank in via Giulio Petroni, in an automatic dispenser of a pharmacy in via Giulio Petroni, on a wall in via Alberotanza and on a wall in via Giulio Petroni at the intersection with viale Gandhi Mohandas .
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE POLICE AND THE WRITINGS REFERRING TO THE “VIVI” MOVEMENT
According to what was reconstructed by the police, writings were made in red paint referring to the “ViVi” protest movement, a group that originally stood out for its opposition to vaccination campaigns, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Over time, the protest, explains the police, has also addressed other issues such as the 2030 agenda and digital identity and, in general, towards political choices considered to be liberticidal.
The man, investigated for criminal association, damage, defacement and soiling of other people’s things, was reached by a search warrant. IT equipment of investigative interest and cans, spray cans of red paint and fire extinguishers modified to use the paint itself, wigs and other clothing used for camouflage were found and seized.
3 OTHER SUBJECTS SEARCHED IN THE PROVINCES OF BARI AND LECCE FOR THE SAME CRIMES
At the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, three other search decrees were carried out at the same time by the postal police, against as many subjects in the provinces of Bari and Lecce, under investigation for the same crimes. Mobile phones and computer equipment were discovered and seized and will be subjected to analysis. For the operations, the agents of the Puglia Cyber Security Operations Center were assisted by personnel from the Digos of Bari and Lecce.
