FORNACI DISTRICT (CERIGNOLA): TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DISTRICT AFTER A LONG STALL
Bonito: “A complex but quick job, thanks to the offices and commitment of councilor Cialdella”
A long urban planning controversy in the Fornaci district of Cerignola is towards a resolution, thus paving the way for a coherent and planned development of the area.
Since 2004, the area has appeared like a “leopard’s spot” due to heterogeneous urban planning choices, making it difficult to implement a unitary plan. The situation remained blocked for two decades, despite repeated attempts to find a solution.
A turning point came following an informal meeting held on May 21st between the residents of the neighborhood, the mayor Francesco Bonito, the councilor for Productive Activities Sergio Cialdella and the engineer Vito Famiglietti, head of the private building office. Today, in fact, the process for the strategic environmental assessment (SEA) assignment was finalized, effectively unblocking the impasse.
“A concrete step towards a definitive solution to the dispute, which finally paves the way for sustainable development of the Fornaci district, in line with the needs and expectations of our citizens.” Mayor Bonito began.
“I would like to express my deepest satisfaction for the speed and ability to resolve some important critical issues related to the issue, which represents a real thorn in the side of our Fornaci neighborhood. I sincerely thank councilor Cialdella, to whom I had delegated the management of this complex situation, for his commitment and the speed with which he completed the task. Thanks also go to our technical offices, especially to Eng. Famiglietti, who worked with dedication and professionalism to achieve this important goal.” The mayor concluded.
