The Municipality of Caserta and the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Caserta have signed a memorandum of understanding which has the aim of protecting individuals and, more generally, families in a state of over-indebtedness.

In particular, the agreement provides for: assisting citizens who find themselves in a situation of excessive debt, also in order to safeguard their personal dignity; raise awareness among citizens, professionals and entrepreneurs of the characteristics and possibilities offered by the new regulation, in order to stem the crisis and relaunch consumers and businesses in difficulty; spread financial education in secondary schools, promoting a process of financial literacy aimed at preventing future over-indebtedness.

The objective of the memorandum of understanding, therefore, is to allow citizens (consumers, unemployed, professionals and non-fallible entrepreneurs) access to the procedures for resolving the over-indebtedness crisis, using the Settlement Body called “OCC – ODCEC Caserta” established by the Order as a free service for the fact-finding and collection phase of the documentation necessary to start the practice.

On the basis of the provisions of the protocol, the Municipality will provide adequate information on the initiative in the municipal territory through its communication tools, providing, within its institutional website, a link to a web page dedicated to financial education and to the Over-indebtedness Crisis Settlement Body. The organization will sponsor training and information events on the topic, in close synergy with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Caserta. Together the two entities will also organize financial education programs in schools. The Order will provide continuous assistance in matters of over-indebtedness, taking on a direct role in helping those who experience a situation of objective economic weakness.
