APRILIA: SANCTIONS FOR ILLEGAL REFUNDS OF OVER 520 THOUSAND EUROS

(AGENPARL) – Fri 07 June 2024 Aprilia (Lt), 7 June 2024 – The officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of the Territorial Operational Section of Aprilia, as part of the control and monitoring activity of the declarations of those entitled to tax relief in the road haulage sector, have ascertained, in the first four months of this year, an illicit use of reimbursements by way of excise duties amounting to approximately 500 thousand euros and a further 260 thousand euros of reimbursements advanced with respect to the effective date fruition.
For the above operations, carried out by companies in the province of Latina operating in the road haulage sector, administrative sanctions were imposed for an amount equal to 521,601 thousand euros.
The fraudulent activities were intercepted through an analysis conducted on some economic operators operating in the aforementioned sector and with the aid of the databases available to the Customs and Monopolies Agency, which made it possible to trace a series of suspicious activities concluded with the finding of excise duty refunds used illicitly, on the basis of the tax relief recognized by law for diesel fuel used for road transport.
