A 42-year-old was arrested in March for starting a fire in a building in Como. Released from prison and placed under house arrest, on June 6 he was seen wandering near the same condominium. The police arrested him again.
Last March 23 the police had A 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of arson. According to what has been reconstructed, the man had set a fire inside a garage of an apartment building in the Breccia district of Como. The smoke that emerged had seriously intoxicated 18 people, including 4 children. The 42-year-old was released from prison on June 4 and placed under house arrest. Yesterday, however, Thursday 6 June, some residents of that building recognized him still wander around the same building and they called the police. The officers called the police who had him arrested again for evasion.
The fire set in the building in via Venturino
The fire broke out during the night between Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd March in via Venturino, in Como. When firefighters arrived, there was smoke already invaded two of the four floors of the building and for this reason all 95 resident families had been evacuated. In all, 18 condominiums they needed medical attention because they showed symptoms of intoxication, including 4 children. Thirteen people were ultimately transported to hospital, none in serious condition.
The following morning, police arrested a 42-year-old of Moroccan origin on charges of arson. Conducted in prison del Bassone, was released from prison on 4 June and subjected to the precautionary measure of the House arrest which he had to serve at his residence in Cologno Monzese.

The arrest for escape on June 6th
On June 6, however, some residents of the condominium in via Venturino saw him wandering near the building and called 112. A patrol from the Flying Squad was intervened on the scene and found the 42-year-old.
Violation of the precautionary measure, the officers arrested him for evasion and took him to the police headquarters’ security rooms. Today, June 7th, it will be tried immediately at the disposal of the prosecutor of the Como Prosecutor’s Office.
