8 and 9 June polls open throughout Italy for European and administrative elections. Potenza is preparing to elect its new mayor, the counting will begin on Monday after the European vote, and there will be five competing for the tricolor band: Francesco Fanelli, in the League but candidate for the centre-right coalition composed not only of the Northern League but also of Forza Italy, Brothers of Italy, We Moderates, and the civics We Love Potenza, Lucanian Pride and Civic Power.
Vincenzo Telesca, with five lists in support including part of the Pd area, Uniamoci per Potenza, Insieme per Potenza, Basilicata common house and Potenza prima. Instead, Potenza returns, Città nuova and the 5 Star Movement support Pierluigi Smaldone. The only candidates with only one list are Francesco Giuzio of La Basilicata Possible and Maria Grazia Marino of Potere al Popolo. This afternoon is the day of final rallies and last calls to vote for the five contenders.
In chronological order, the first to meet the voters and his supporters will be the current regional health councilor, Fanelli, who will be in Piazza Martiri delle Foibe at 6.30pm. At 7.30pm, a few meters away from each other, it will be the turn of Marino, in the central Piazza Matteotti and Smaldone in Largo Pignatari.
