Yesterday afternoon, following a targeted judicial police service, the State Police personnel of the PS Commissariat of Foligno arrested two Tunisian citizens and reported a third minor; all are charged with complicity in the crimes of possession and dealing of narcotic substances.

The activity originated from the reports of some residents in the central area of ​​Piazza del Grano – reports partly also made through the Sato Police application “YouPol” – which gave awareness of the presence of a small group of young people, probably engaged engaged in street dealing.

Some reports, however, highlighted how this activity was carried out both during the day and at night, thus causing understandable social alarm.

Therefore, yesterday morning some police officers from the police station carried out some stakeouts, acquiring important elements of evidence.

Specifically, a group of three subjects were noticed in an alley adjacent to Piazza del Grano while they were intent on making suspicious sales first to a young man and, shortly afterwards, to a second buyer.

The two customers, after making the purchases, were blocked and searched by the police, who in this way were certain of the narcotic nature of the substances sold, specifically, cocaine and hashish.

Immediately afterwards, the police station staff blocked the three drug dealers in the street, in order to proceed with their personal search.

In this way, the officers overall found and seized almost two and a half ounces of hashish, two more doses of cocaine and further doses of marijuana, weighing over 4 grams; furthermore, over 2,100 euros were seized, reasonably constituting the proceeds of the illicit drug dealing activity.

As a result, two of those arrested were identified as adult Tunisian citizens, while the third turned out to be a minor resident in Foligno.

The two North Africans were arrested flagrantly for complicity in the crimes of possession and dealing of narcotic substances; at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor of the Spoleto Prosecutor’s Office, the arrested people were associated with the Perugia-Capanne prison pending the validation hearing. The minor, however, was reported in a state of freedom for the same crime.

All suspects must be presumed innocent until definitive conviction.
