“Ianua Coeli” is an exhibition dedicated to one of the most represented subjects in the history of art: the Madonna. The initiative, promoted by the youth group of the Maria SS Parish. Immacolata – Holy Souls, is scheduled from 28 to 30 June in Bagheria. The aim is to promote devotion to the Madonna on the one hand and on the other to enhance the arts and craftsmanship of the numerous talents of which the territory is particularly rich.
The exhibition has therefore a cultural and social value that goes beyond the religious aspect, aspiring to the promotion and recovery of the Sicilian genius. The vast range and variety of the artists involved constitutes the most original point of the event. There are very established artists with a long career behind them such as Carlo Puleo, Vincenzo Gennaro, Lucia Stefanetti, Paolo Turturro and Giuseppe Tuzzolino. But also many young beginners, less famous, but no less talented.
The works are the most disparate: paintings, icons, engravings, wood carvings, iron sculptures, embroidery, miniatures, nativity scenes and nativity scenes. Nothing is missing to delight the sight and the spirit in front of such an excellent gallery of works.
