The licenses of two commercial businesses located near the center of Foggia were suspended for 7 and 10 days. The measures issued by the commissioner against the owners fall within the scope of the activities carried out by the State Police with the ultimate aim of preventing the proliferation of social situations that are particularly alarming for public order and safety.
They therefore arise from the repeated checks carried out by the Administrative and Social Police Division of the Police Headquarters, by the Flying Squad and by the Crime Prevention Department of San Severo, which have made it possible to reveal the frequenting of the premises by people with high levels of social danger.
Particularly significant is the circumstance that dozens of patrons monitored within the clubs, in addition to being convicted, were found not to be regularly registered in the members’ register.
The suspension of the authorization imposed by the Police Commissioner is adopted on the basis of the provisions of article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Security, a law which aims to protect public order and safety. In addition to the case of contraindicated attendance, this provision can also be issued when disorder or episodes of violence occur in a public establishment.
In the most serious cases or when there is repetition of the same conduct, the definitive revocation of the commercial authorizations can be proposed to the mayor, through the Prefect.
The operational services carried out with the collaboration of the Carabinieri, the Financial Police and the Local Police have made it possible to achieve some results: 58 pieces of goods administratively seized for violation of the regulation of trade in public areas; seven commercial establishments checked, 214 people identified; 85 vehicles checked; nine controlled commercial premises.
