School “Lombardo Radice”, the parents write to Common for clarification on the work that will soon affect the nursery classes And of primary school. The municipal administration’s project envisages the demolition and reconstruction of the complex via Rome and the transfer of children to other locations for the duration of the construction site. A work on which, according to the families of the approximately three hundred students, sufficient clarity has not yet been made. Neither on the times, nor on the arrangement and reorganization of the classes.

Hence the letter and the either/or mayor Carlo Marino and to the councilors for school construction and public education, respectively Massimiliano Marzo and Enzo Battarra, to get answers as soon as possible. «We would like to know – we read in the document signed by the class and institute representatives – the start date of the works, the duration of the intervention, the locations identified to host the nursery and primary classes and above all starting from when the relocation of the classrooms is planned. Requests that we consider legitimate in light of the numerous rumors that have been circulating on the subject for months and in the absence of a report or an official document that clarifies all this information and reassures the families. In fact, we have read about possible transfers underway Barducci, Piazza Cavour, Vescovado square and even in viale Buonarroti in the headquarters of the Technical Institute for Surveyors, the latter solution appearing to us to be absolutely unlikely and even risky because it would mean projecting the children into a reality frequented by much older children and exposing them to possible bullying.”

Then the appeal to Common to provide the necessary clarifications as soon as possible “because uncertainty is generating anxieties and worries among parents, also preventing them from evaluating alternative solutions in a timely manner that may be more satisfactory for the organization familiar. In fact, it should be noted that many families with more than one child they had chosen the seat of via Rome precisely due to the presence, in the same complex, of both nursery and primary classes. Which instead, starting next year, will be found in two different areas of the city.”

THE REUNION

While waiting for an answer, parents and teachers will meet this afternoon, at 5pm in the main hall of the “Dante Alighieri” to evaluate possible protest actions to be implemented. Some parents do not rule out the possibility of carrying out a sit-in and blocking the start of the work if no good news arrives from the organisation, someone else suggests contacting a law firm but many others have already submitted an application for authorization to transfer the children elsewhere. The councilor is critical of parents Battarra: «In a meeting that took place last April 30th at the Municipality, in the presence of the school director, the administration clearly said that the nursery classes would be transferred to via Barducci to the Acquaviva district while those of the primary school in the premises of the Curia to the Bishopric. Nothing has changed since then.” And in reference to the plexus hypothesis Piazza Cavour to the Tescione districtwhich currently hosts the students of the “De Amicis“, this is also the site of works which, however, are about to be completed, the councilor added: «Piazza Cavour represents one of the possible further solutions but it is certainly not the first. It’s always good to have alternatives in case problems arise.”

THE PROJECTS

The problems mentioned by the councilor are linked to the fact that currently even the Curia premises are already occupied by middle school students “Giannone”, which hosts important regeneration interventions. The Municipality has guaranteed that the classrooms in this case will be ready for the new school year, unless work is stopped again. Meanwhile, the middle school will also be demolished and rebuilt.”Roger” Of via Trento. However, the location that will host them has not yet been confirmed for these students. We are working to obtain spaces in the complex via Melvin Jones where the branch sections of the art institute are located San Leucio and the “Giannone” classical high school but nothing is yet defined. «We are working to find the best possible solution – adds Battarra – but it is a decision that must be considered calmly and appropriately.” Regarding the works, Councilor March instead he announced that «for both schools the contracts with the contracting companies have already been signed and that the executive design will be delivered shortly, then we can start with the construction sites. We hope to start by the end of June.”
