G7 Health, safety plan. Reclamation of sites and roads

There are still four months to go until the start of the G7 Salute at the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona, but there are still many details, far from trivial, to be fixed, analyzed and sorted out. The institutional leaders of the territory who met in the prefecture on Wednesday, coordinated by the prefect, Saverio Ordine, understood this well.

In the meeting room of the Government Palace there were everyone representing politics, institutions and associations. Among others, the mayor of Ancona, Daniele Silvetti, was present, despite the collapse of the city’s football club. It is not a question of organizing the Notte Bianca or the San Ciriaco Fair, but rather an event that will place the Doric capital at the center of national and international attention. Works, routes and above all safety. The meeting revealed a still very marked distance between the local institutions and the national coordination of the G7 Health which, within the shortest possible time, will have to provide the guidelines to be followed during the three days of carrying out the work: starting on Wednesday 9th and finishing Friday 11 October. The municipal administration received the resources for the extraordinary maintenance of the roads and roundabouts ‘frequented’ by the international delegations, with particular attention between the station and the centre, as well as Portonovo and via Conca a Torrette. The ‘Public Works’ service organized the stages and started, or rather already finished, the asphalting work on the Portonovo road, as well as arranging the two public car parks in the bay. Soon it will be on via Marconi, via XXIX Settembre and via della Loggia. Therefore, progress is being made on maintenance, but safety directives are missing. A task force, about which little is known yet, will have to deal with some fundamental operations on that front. Starting from the reclamation of the sites from any risk of attacks. In addition to taking care of every detail of surveillance, in the days leading up to the event it will be essential to clean up everything, from manholes to drains, including bins and waste bins. Nothing will be left to chance, but a shared plan will be needed which does not yet exist. In addition to the three days of work at the Mole Vanvitelliana there is one last aspect to take care of, namely the route and security to be guaranteed to some diplomacies regarding the final lunch of the G7 Health which will be held in Numana.
