Viterbo – Yet another act of vandalism in San Faustino: “Every night the same story, permanent controls are needed”

Exasperated traders and residents are calling for more controls: “Those who commit these acts usually go unpunished”

VITERBO – Yet another episode of violence in San Faustino, unfortunately one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city and in the entire historic center. This time it was the window of a local restaurant, “Nonna pappa”, which paid the price, which had a cobblestone thrown at it.

The vandalism attack, which occurred during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, did not fail to arouse concern among the residents of the area, already exasperated by the many petty crime and vandalism activities. According to the statements, the culprit of the gesture would have subsequently thrown the same cobblestone also against a person, who went out into the street to understand what was happening.

The police are investigating the matter, hoping to identify the vandal through the various private cameras present on via Cairoli and neighboring streets.

“Unfortunately – declares a local trader – these things are the order of the day here. It is rare that anything is actually done to these people, despite the great commitment of the Carabinieri and the police, who we always thank. It’s a bit of a wild west here, the municipal administration had also promised neighborhood police, maybe they could help, even if most of the problems happen in the middle of the night, when everyone is asleep and few eyes are alert.”
