Rimini, 6 June 2024 – After eight months, the murder investigation file on the murder of Pierina Paganelli has a suspect. It’s the name of Louis Dassilva, the 35-year-old metalworker neighbor, who now clutters the line of suspects in the investigation coordinated by prosecutor Daniele Paci to shed light on the death of the 78-year-old pensioner brutally murdered with 29 stab wounds in via del Ciclamino in Rimini, on the evening of 3 October last.

Dassilva was informed in the presence of his lawyer Riario Fabbri during the summons to the police station this afternoon and for whichand Dassilva is still in the offices in Piazzale Bornaccini. His partner Valeria Bartolucci was also summoned with him a few hours earlier, as a person informed of the facts.
The commissioner: “Long times due to the complexity of the techniques used”
And while the confrontation between the agents of the Rimini flying squad and Louis Dassilva continues until late in the evening in the police headquarters offices following the communication to the 35-year-old that he is under investigation for murder, the police commissioner of Rimini Olimpia Abbate came out in Piazzale Bornaccini, he briefly commented: “It took time to get to this point because the techniques used are very complex. However, it is an important response to the citizens and the city who rightly ask for full light on the case.” “The long times? They are those necessary for complex cases, in which like this time there are no witnesses, the body was found the morning after the crime. Louis Dassilva’s position therefore it got worse and after 8 months of investigations: the deputy prosecutor Daniele Paci informed the Senegalese that he is under investigation and now it will be possible to proceed with unrepeatable investigations such as the comparison of DNA.
So off to the unrepeatable investigations on the traces of DNA found by the forensic team on Pierina’s body since last October and which, in the absence of suspects, had not yet been possible to carry out. It could be precisely this finding that inserts the missing piece into the mosaic of murder investigation.
