Municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena – Fight against tax evasion, reward for TARI confirmed again this year

The municipal administration renews the campaign aimed at encouraging the virtuous behavior of taxpayers and with almost half a million in investment relaunches the reward for the waste tax. Introduced last year, the TARI discount aims to show closeness towards those citizens who behave responsibly towards the community and inspire those who don’t care, thus further burdening other people’s expenses.

The current waste tax regulation, updated by this Administration, dedicates an article to exemptions and reductions in favor of taxpayers who meet certain requirements. Paragraph 9 in particular provides that the Administration may “promote forms of rewards in favor of virtuous taxpayers, according to criteria established by the municipal council with its own policy documents” is that “the expense is met with resources from the municipal budget”.

“We repeat the award for the second consecutive year, with the intention of continuing in the years to come, compatibly with the resources available, to give impetus and continuity to the campaign we are conducting against tax evasion” – explains Deputy Mayor Tore Sanna -. It is a policy designed to actively thank citizens who consciously contribute to the waste collection and disposal process, but also to underline how important that contribution is, because paying taxes allows the citizens’ public needs to be satisfied and therefore increases well-being. of the whole community – continues the representative of the Milia Council -. Rewarding those who spontaneously and punctually fulfill the obligations of the law, in this specific case the TARI, also makes it possible to push towards a normalization of the processes even those who over the years have neglected how important it is to pay”.

Therefore, also for the TARI 2024, with 475 thousand euros of municipal resources obtained from the Administration Surplus, there is a discount on the bills of the virtuous, with the bonuses that will be applied as an adjustment at the time of issuing the TARI 2025 payment notices, with the exception of those who, having the requirements, have already joined or will join the bank direct debit of the payment.

Specifically, the TARI 2024 awards will be of interest both domestic and non-domestic users meeting the following requirements:

1. have submitted the TARI declarations within the deadlines established by current legislation and have been regularly registered in the database for at least three years (2021-2022-2023).
2. have paid the TARI due within the deadline of the last installment for the various tax years as indicated below:
   1. tax year 2019 payment by 11/30/2019;
   2. tax year 2020 payment by 12/31/2020;
   3. tax year 2021 payment by 11/30/2021;
   4. tax year 2022 payment by 12/31/2022;
   5. tax year 2023 payment by 12/31/2023.
3. have collected the tubs for timely collection from the Urban Hygiene Service Manager by 31/12/2023.

The rewards will be automatically applied through a discount on the amount due to the organisation, with higher discounts for the most virtuous citizens. The reduction on the amount due will in fact be 12% if the taxpayer has been virtuous since 2019, as he has been registered since that year or previous years, 9% if the virtuousness dates back to 2020, as he has been registered since that year, 7 % for those who are in good standing as of 2021, always in case of registration from that year.

Those who have signed up or want to sign up for direct debit to pay the TARI in a single payment by September 2024 will be entitled to a further 3% reduction on the amount due. The TARI payment notice will be redetermined exclusively for them. 2024, with the application of the new approved tariffs, and the automatic application of the bonuses.
