Music competitions, brilliant results for middle school students

Grosseto. There “Leonardo da Vinci” lower secondary schoolof the Grosseto 1 comprehensive institute directed by the head teacher, Professor Barbara Bernardini, has been home since the 1993/1994 school year to the ministerial musical course which has given hundreds of pre-adolescents the opportunity to train and express themselves with music.

“The musical courses contribute to the acquisition of musical language by students, integrating the technical-practical aspects with the theoretical, lexical, historical and cultural ones through the teaching of the musical instrument and the music discipline – we read in a note from the school -. Developing instrumental teaching at school means providing students, destined to grow up in a world strongly marked by the presence of music as a vehicle of communication, often only immediately, with a greater ability to actively and critically read reality, a further possibility of knowledge, expression and consciousness, rational and emotional of oneself”.

“The objective of the three-year course, therefore, once complete and conscious musical literacy has been provided, is to set some essential goals that must be achieved by everyone – goes on the statement. Respect for the general orientation purposes of lower secondary school does not exclude the valorization of excellence. This year too, the results for participation as soloists or chamber groups in the second national competition organized by the Rete Rrgionale Toscana Musica and in the 24th ‘Città di San Vincenzo’ music festival were excellent. There are many activities of our institute, during the school year some students participated in the musical and artistic project of the Florentine musical Maggio with ‘Venti Lucenti’ (in the photo, ed.) and of the Municipality of Florence, of listening to the opera Turandot by Puccini singing from the audience ‘O sole vita etere’ and other choirs, the orchestra of the musical school participated in Siena in the second Tuscan regional festival of orchestras, in essays and concerts and was invited to perform the Italian anthem in the council chamber of the Municipality of Grosseto”.

“The school year ends at the modern theater on Thursday 6 June, at 7pm, with the show ‘Diversi ma amici: un’armonia di emotions’, created by the passion and imagination of teachers and students of the ‘Leonardo’ secondary school da Vinci’ with orchestra, choir, acting, dance and scenography – ends the statement. Special thanks to the municipal administration for having involved the “Leonardo da Vinci” secondary school and the Polo Bianciardi di Grosseto music high school in this event.
