One week after the approval of the positive 2023 budget, the BCCs of Emilia-Romagna have chosen to unanimously renew their confidence in the outgoing president. A vote in the sign of continuity and in confirmation of the appreciation for the work carried out, expressed by the representatives of Banca Centro Emilia, Banca Malatestiana, Bc Fcelsinea, Bcc Romagnolo, Bcc Sarsina, Emil Banca, La Bcc Ravennate Forlivese Imola, Riviera Banca, RomagnaBanca which have confirmed Mauro Fabbretti as head of the Federation for the next three years.
“The future of the mutual banks of Emilia Romagna rests on solid foundations – commented the president of the Federation Mauro Fabbretti -: number of stable branches, increasing funding and members, virtuous and effective relationships with our territories where we are committed to encouraging growth and the development of businesses and communities, performance indices of the regional mutual banks above the averages of the national banking industry which is progressively seeing its network retreat and abandon the most remote municipalities. From here we start to face the challenges of the coming years. I thank the representatives of the Cooperative Credit Banks of Emilia-Romagna for having honored me with a renewed and shared trust: a three-year period of great work awaits us, all together”.
There are many areas that will see the Federation at the forefront in the near future “I am thinking, for example, of the theme of community welfare: last year the regional Federation started a feasibility study to create a mutual service that can support members and customers in protecting their health, in response to the growing public health crisis. No less important, then, will be the energy communities game which will see the regional BCCs starting from the relevant experiences started by Cooperative Credit in our country. Both the commitment to the financial education of young people continues, in the wake of the excellent results of the GLHF project which, in the last year alone, reached 3,000 high school students in the region, and the support for the Young Members’ Groups , and the path in the name of gender equality, started with iDEE – Donne del Credito Cooperativo. Finally, the next three years will also focus on the theme of training: in the autumn, in fact, the Advanced Training Course in Cooperation Economics will begin, aimed at administrators, managers, auditors and aspiring new administrators of the BCCs, developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna. Aggregating, informing, representing and supporting the local mutual banks, enhancing their image and promoting their growth: this will be the Federation’s objective in the coming years”.
