The “solidarity minibus” service officially begins on Monday, an initiative that will allow cancer patients to travel more easily from Sciacca to the “San Giovanni Di Dio” in Agrigento for treatment.

An initiative of the Caritas parish of Carmine, of which the parish priest Don Luca Restivo is responsible, in collaboration with the Oncology department of the “Giovanni Paolo II” of Sciacca, under the responsibility of Doctor Domenico Santangelo, as well as with the Radiotherapy service of hospital in Agrigento (which also guarantees the presence of a clinic in Sciacca) directed by Dr. Michele Bono and which is made possible by the purchase, which took place with a regional loan of thirty thousand euros supported by the Honorable La Rocca Ruvolo, and which will be managed

An initiative strongly supported by the Parish Caritas of Carmine di Sciacca, and by the Solide Ali Association of Cammarata (which will directly manage this service) in which the municipalities of San Giovanni Gemini and Cammarata itself also participate.

What we can define as ‘stations’ from which the minibus will depart are Menfi, Sciacca, Ribera, Siculiana and Realmonte. Doctor Michele Bono, director of the Radiotherapy operational unit of the “San Giovanni di Dio” in Agrigento, comments on the initiative on our newscast.
