Campania is the protagonist: it is a place for digital nomads

Campania is among the most popular destinations for digital nomads. This was revealed by research from the expressvpn.com portal, which brings together one hundred Italian locations where you can go to do smart working.
The survey is the result of an amalgamation of a series of factors: good Internet connectivity, coworking opportunities, cost of living, all-round cultural and natural attractions, safety.

After an analysis of Campania’s strengths, let’s venture into the towns and villages where a remote worker could move. For the destinations in question, a valid mobile network and a good VPN for Italy will be enough, useful for shielding the connection from unwanted events.

Smart working in Campania: why yes

The main cities in the area, Naples and Salerno above all, have an overall effective Internet infrastructure, with reasonable access to fast connections. The capital area, in particular, can count on a growing offer of co-working spaces, modern working environments with all the comforts necessary for digital professionals. In general, it can be said with certainty that the cost of living in Campania is lower than in many other Italian regions: a potentially important advantage for a digital nomad.

Steeped in history and culture, the region can boast world-famous archaeological sites such as Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as a varied artistic and architectural heritage. From street food delicacies to exquisite typical desserts, the rich gastronomic tradition of Campania certainly needs no introduction. Campania offers breathtaking landscapes such as the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, islands such as Capri and Ischia but also natural parks such as the Cilento National Park, Vallo di Diano and Alburni, all potential opportunities for excursions and other outdoor activities. The traditional hospitality of Southern Italy will make nomadic workers always feel at home, welcome and integrated into the local community.

The pearls of Campania for digital nomads

Among the inhabited centers proposed by Express VPN, clearly visible in the first five positions, there is Furore, nestled in the aforementioned Amalfi Coast. While on the one hand this area is generally very popular with visitors, Furore represents a more hidden pearl and less subject to mass tourism. The Coast needs no introduction, while as far as job opportunities are concerned, the convent complex of San Michele is worth mentioning, which hosts co-working spaces and promotes various socio-cultural initiatives. Another destination not to be missed is Pisciotta, one of the most characteristic medieval villages of Cilento, whose coast has various very different beaches: from the pebble beach of Marina Campagna and Marina di Pisciotta to the sand beach of Caprioli.

In the Benevento area there is the municipality of Guardia Sanframondi, a small hilltop village overlooking olive groves and vineyards, from which a renowned wine-growing tradition derives. The medieval castle, the numerous stately palaces and the buildings of worship are absolutely worth visiting. Also in the province of Benevento, in the ancient lands of Sannio, stands Sant’Agata de’ Goti: defined as the “pearl of Sannio”, this thousand-year-old village preserves art, culture and tradition and is a land of Annurche apples, fine wine and black truffles. The town is divided into two parts: a modern one, built starting from the end of the nineteenth century, and the other of Roman foundation, located on a tuff rock. For a relaxing trip out of town Nusco, in the province of Avellino, is the ideal alternative: the nickname “balcony of Irpinia” reveals a panoramic view immersed in vegetation, among hills, valleys and springs.
