Sant’Andrea in Bagnolo and Maceri shipyards managed by the Region

An intervention already underway along the Savio, in the hamlet of Sant’Andrea in Bagnolo, which anticipates a summer of work with the opening of two new construction sites on the banks and in the riverbed. With a total investment of approximately 3 million 100 thousand euros, works continue for the safety of the waterway, which flows through the Romagna area, with operations to clear vegetation, increase the section of the river to facilitate the passage of the current and adapt the dimensions of the banks.

The works, in detail

In Sant’Andrea in Bagnolo the works consist of removal of vegetation in the riverbed and selective cutting of vegetation capable of causing hydraulic problems.

The intervention, costing approximately 180 thousand euros, is part of the overall funding of 500 thousand euros, allocated by the Region and foreseen in the intervention plan, for the extraordinary maintenance of the waterways of the Cesena area in the two-year period 2024-25. An intervention entirely dedicated to the management of vegetation in the Savio riverbed is also planned for the summer, for an amount of one million 600 thousand euros, which will mainly affect the capital municipality.

The Maceri

In the same period, again in Cesena, with an investment of 1 million 300 thousand euros, the construction site will also start for the increase of the flow section of the Savio in the city section, from downstream of the Railway Bridge to the I Maceri area.

The works involve both the removal of deposits present on the river banks and the functional adaptation of the top levels of the banks to the flood profile observed in May last year. Both interventions are financed by the extraordinary commissioner for reconstruction under ordinance no. 8/2023.
