Bormida foams, Arpa analysis Claudio Lombardi asks for clarity

ALEXANDRIA – “On behalf of the readers, especially the Alexandrians I ask Arpa for greater clarity and transparency of information“. This is the appeal of the former Environment Councilor of Alessandria, Claudio Lombardi, regarding the analyzes of the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection on the discovery of foams in the Bormida which occurred on May 17th.

Arpa writes that it has detected some non-conformities with respect to the cC6O4 parameter with respect to the Integrated Environmental Authorization limits but, for transparency and completeness of information, Arpa itself must report the values detected and the limits of the Integrated Environmental Authorisation. It cannot and must not delegate the search to the reader. Furthermore, Arpa must specify, again in the name of complete information to the reader, what the “prevascaA101A” is, the ADV values detected and the related types (there are many types of ADV: ADV N2, ADV 7400, ADV 7600 etc) as well as to comment and/or justify the presence of PFOA in this “pre-tank” which must no longer be produced and used”.

“Also I wonder if the ADV can still be used?” added the former councilor “Arpa states that in the Bormida river the Pfas are lower than the quantification limits” but must report the values of the quantification limits adopted and the prescribed limits, in the name of completeness of information. Finally, the Agency must clarify who are the “competent authorities” to which it has transmitted the data e the “measures” that these authorities must adopt”.
