BUSTO ARSIZIO – They are stopped awaiting a preventive technical assessment the internal renovation works of the Manara swimming poolwhich the municipal administration is preparing to implement with the money of Forus, the “fired” manager since last May 31st. Works for 200 thousand euros, fruit in part (131 thousand euros) of the forfeited guarantee by the administration and in part (68 thousand euros) requested from the Spanish company «by way of greater damage», as explained bysports councilor Maurizio Artusa in the hearing in the sports commission requested by the minority. «Because they were jobs that had to be carried out by Forus».
The jobs: who pays
The Spanish company’s appeal against the request for damages opened a dispute which blocked the works, which were already ready to begin. The municipal lawyer, Maria Antonietta Carrareports that «with the preventive technical assessment by a technical consultant, Forus requested the photograph of the state of fact contesting that these supposed damages were caused by them. Now let’s see what the judge thinks, possibly in a short timeframe”, in order to unblock the works necessary for the complete reopening of the plant, announced by the new manager Aquamore for September. The parties are summoned for Wednesday 5 June for the first hearing. In the meantime, work is progressing on the external part, which the Municipality has financed 83 thousand euros «taken from the restricted surplus with an emergency budget change to ensure that they were done quickly”, as highlighted by councilor Artusa, who in the commission corrected what had emerged in the city council.

Pressure on the matter continues from minority groups. «No preconceptions towards the new manager, but it is important that answers are given to users because the swimming pool is closed today and there are only predictions regarding its reopening – he urges Emanuele Fiore, councilor of the mixed group and first signatory of the request for a hearing in the commission – Manara is an exceptional facility, which has nothing to envy of those that host national championships and deserves a relaunch, after two “failures”. We must do our best to start long-term projects.” But the present is precarious: «We have to hope that it doesn’t rainbecause the internal tanks are closed.”
