NightMore born from the artist’s desire GianLuca Groppi to be able to create narratives without any premeditation,
abandoning yourself to sensations and dreams.
Images do not necessarily have a complete meaning: they are suggestions, clues that can lead to different realities.
They are located in that fluctuating state of consciousness that generates illusions and visions. Hypnagogic images received by abandoning oneself to what pre-sleep offers, in an unforced wait.
GianLuca Groppi he practices art as a necessity, using the mind and photographic medium to express his own poetics: he collects and stages, to reveal and reclaim, the ailments, voids and anxieties of society, cloaking them in a saving humor.
NightMore represents artistic maturity but also aims to be a compendium of Groppi’s entire activity and the numerous changes that have characterized it.
Mutations, in fact, from the series of the same name will be proposed, in addition to some works, to allow for further study and to stimulate curiosity.
