Summer by train: more connections to the sea, new intermodal services to move more comfortably and sustainably, reaching the cities of art more easily. And the debut of through connections serving the Bologna metropolitan area.

These are some of the innovations and confirmations of Trenitalia Tper’s regional programming, created with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region, which will come into force from Sunday 9 June with the new summer timetable, already available for consultation on the Trenitalia Tper and Trenitalia purchasing systems.

The summer offer for the Romagna Riviera confirms and integrates all the additional regional trains proposed last year according to a program that touches all the locations from the Ravenna beaches to the city of Fellini. Up to 140 trips per day to and from Rimini, touching all locations with peaks of 5 trains per hour between the Emilian capital and the Romagna city and 80 thousand seats; in particular up to 103 trains connect Bologna and Rimini, 30 of which with connections via Ravenna. The Rock trains return from Piedmont and Veneto to connect the main cities of the two regions to the beaches of the Romagna Riviera (eight trips at the weekend). And it is confirmedOrobica Line which this year will originate/destinate from Brescia (and not from Bergamo due to work on the route). Finally, six more trains have been scheduled on public holidays on the line Bologna-Ravenna-Rimini.

The Bolognese metropolitan railway service makes its debut

Also from 9 June, the Bolognese metropolitan railway service debuts with new routes and fewer train changes, “increasing – Trenitalia remarks – the offer and more easily connecting the east to the west area of ​​the city, the capital to the mountains. Trains to the sea

The strengthening of the service towards the Romagna Riviera will focus in particular on the days and time slots of greatest demand: between 6.30am and 12pm on Saturday 25 trains will serve the route between Bologna and Rimini, while on Sunday between 5pm and 8pm they will be 15 those departing from Rimini towards the Emilian capital.
Thus, all the coastal towns between Rimini and Cattolica will be served by the new timetable (up to 71 stops in Riccione, 50 in Misano and 71 in Cattolica) and between Ravenna and Rimini (up to 43 stops in Lido di Classe, 44 in Cervia, 44 in Cesenatico, 39 Gatteo a mare, 42 in Bellaria, 41 in Igea Marina and 38 in Rimini Viserba), with regional train connections which will partly guarantee direct connections not only with Bologna, but also with all the locations on the axis of the Via Emilia until reaching Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto.

There are four direct connections – two on Saturdays and two on Sundays – between Venice, Padua, Terme Euganee, Monselice and Rovigo and Cattolica passing through Ravenna and with stops in Classe, Lido di Classe- Lido di Savio, Cervia-Milano Marittima, Cesenatico, Gatteo a Mare, Bellaria, Igea Marina, Rimini Torre Pedrera, Rimini Viserba, Rimini, Rimini Miramare, Riccione and Misano Adriatico. Also in this case the timetables will allow arrival on the coast for lunchtime (departure from Venice SL at 6.46am) and returns with departures in the early afternoon and arrival in the Venetian capital at 7.09pm.
The itinerary prepared for these trains will also offer a further opportunity to reach Ravenna, the center of gravity of the service, inserting the discovery of its cultural treasures into the holiday.
