From a neighborhood symbolizing the disaster caused by a wicked industrial vision, which generated pollution and death, to the beating heart of a possible rebirth in the name of a true and concrete ecological transition. «Borgo Ferrovia – declares the candidate for mayor of the coalition composed of “We are Avellino”, “Really” and “Viva la Libertà”, Laura Nargi – will be the neighborhood from which we will relaunch the development of the future city».
This afternoon, at 7 pm, Nargi will meet the residents of Borgo Ferrovia and will illustrate the proposals contained in his government program to make it the fulcrum of the economic restart of the entire capital and its industrial area. «It is here – he explains – that we imagined some of the most strategic projects for the Avellino of the future. A vision firmly anchored to the great work achieved over the last 5 years. And of which we can now reap the fruits.” We will obviously start from the completion of the reclamation of the former Isochimica, now in the fourth and final batch. «Having closed the account with the past, we will create the city’s trade fair center here. A project that will restore life and economic impetus to the former poison factory. Borgo Ferrovia – assures Nargi – will be the home of our historic bi-weekly market».

A Station Park accessible to all. «It will be a place intended for cultural exchange, relaxation and socialisation, which will make the eastern part of Avellino the main hub from which all the directions develop and branch out, with a Landscape Museum and a direct connection with the Fenestrelle green park ». But not only that: «Here, in the rooms that were previously dedicated to railway workers, we have been imagining for several years a Student Hall, which will bring our students further closer to the Universities of Fisciano and Sannio, and which will give further vitality and economic life to the neighbourhood. A project – it’s Nargi’s thrust – that my competitors Gengaro and Genovese are now also proposing after years of delay. But as usual they arrive much later.” The station will communicate with the rail-rubber interchange hub which will be built in the adjacent square.
