Also there candidate for mayor of Perugia, Margherita Scoccia – supported by centre-right forces – signed the Manifesto of value commitments of Pro Vita & Famiglia onlus and Family Day in view of the next local elections on 8 and 9 June. Scoccia’s membership comes after that of the candidates for mayor of Foligno Stefano Zuccarini and Enrico Presilla and the candidate for mayor of Marsciano Francesca Mele. «We are satisfied with their position and we thank those who, including candidates for councilors and also from other cities and towns in the Region, have put their name to it. We believe that we must start from the bottom, from the territories, to increasingly develop a political and administrative class that concretely spends itself on the protection of Life, Family and Freedom”, the comment of Jacopo Coghe, spokesperson for Pro Vita & Famiglia onlus. «We are certain that the Umbrian voters will reward those candidates who, by signing the Manifesto, have guaranteed indispensable values ​​such as the protection of parents’ educational freedom, the defense of life and support for the family, values ​​on which, as recently stated by our president Massimo Gandolfini, “a society that is truly civil has always been built, and can continue to be built””, the comment of the Umbrian representatives of the Family Day.

The document, in fact, It consists of 7 points: recognize the right to life of the conceived child as a human subject with rights; oppose the practice of rent-a-womb; support associative networks engaged in the promotion and implementation of the rights of people and students with disabilities; promote administrative policies for the natural family based on marriage between a man and a woman; implement demographic policies aimed at rewarding and supporting birth rates; promote and protect the educational freedom of parents; protect the final phase of life through palliative care.
