Stefano Pistis’ funeral tomorrow

The Oristano Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the seizure of the armored vehicle involved in the tragic accident on State Road 131, near Tramatza, in which the Sassari Brigade soldier Stefano Pistis, 44, lost his life yesterday and one of his colleagues was seriously injured , Roberto Calaresu, 47 years old. At the request of prosecutor Andrea Chelo, the cell phones of the two soldiers of the third regiment were also seized.

One of the hypotheses being worked on is that of the mechanical failure of a suspension or arm of the Lince armored vehicle: no tire blowout, they were practically intact.

Stefano Pistis’ funeral will be tomorrow, Wednesday 5 June, in the parish church of Sant’Anna Arresi at 4pm. The celebrants will be Monsignor Sergio Siddi, regional vicar of the military Ordinariate, and the military chaplain of the third Bersaglieri regiment, Father Antonio Atzeni.

The other injured soldier, Roberto Calaresu, who was driving at the time of the accident, is still shaken by the incident. He has suffered several traumas and is hospitalized at Brotzu in Cagliari, but his life is not in danger.

The two people from Sassari were headed to the port of Olbia to embark. At kilometer 103, shortly after the Oristano Nord junction, the misfortune occurred. The armored vehicle skidded sharply and after violently hitting the guard rail it overturned, ending its journey in the middle of the two lanes.
