Pesaro, Musli Alievski, Macedonian candidate targeted by racist insults – News Pesaro – CentroPagina

PESARO – Election campaign on social media, but the candidate is insulted. The center-left doesn’t fit.

«We have carried out an electoral campaign characterized by respect for everyone and civil tones – underlines the committee for Biancani as mayor -, racist phrases such as those reported online under the posts of Musli Alievski, Macedonian candidate for the Biancani Mayor civic list, must be harshly condemned. Musli is an Italian citizen who has made his expertise and experience available to help those who, like him, have a life of suffering behind them. I am happy and proud to also have people from other countries on the coalition lists and who I hope can be elected, so as to bring added value to the sensitivity of our community.”

«By now I am used to receiving racist and discriminatory comments, unfortunately it is one of the problems of today’s society – commented candidate Alievski -: we think we can write on social media everything that comes to mind without being at all aware of the impact they generate such words on people, and without being aware of the legal consequences that could be incurred. Behind freedom of expression, as in this case, racist and denigrating comments are hidden. Personally, I am always open to discussion and civil and constructive dialogue, even with those who think differently than me. I would have expected comments not so much on myself but on the themes I would like to pursue. We still need to work a lot on culture towards others and we need to do it starting from the new generations.”
