Rome, 4 June – Come back Arx – The citadel of ideas, the festival of counter-current culture that has been held in Arco, in the province of Trento, for two years now. An event not to be missed for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the cultural and political debates of our time. Below, we publish the statement written by our colleague Roberto Vivaldelli.

Federico Palmaroli – aka «The most beautiful phrases of Osho» – will open the third edition of «Arx – the citadel of ideas» on Wednesday «Ai Conti» (room on the first floor, 8.30 pm), the event created and supported by the former president of the artisans Roberto De Laurentis and by a group of volunteers which is defined by the promoters themselves as «a refuge in the era of media and information bombardment. A cultural review, a place for debate and in-depth analysis.” Arx – they say – “is thought in freedom”. After having hosted, in the previous two years, authors such as Francesco Borgonovo, Fausto Biloslavo, Gian Micalessin, Stefano Zecchi, Gianluigi Paragone, Toni Capuozzo and many others, this year «Arx» opens with Palmaroli: the 50-year-old Roman collaborates with various newspapers , radio and TV programmes; among the latter also «Porta a Porta» on Rai1, where he summarizes the events of the day with his satirical cartoons.
He is the creator and sole author of the social pages «#lepiubellefrasidiosho» and has published several books, including Se, ciao core (Magic Press), Vedi de fa Poco ‘o Spiritoso (Rizzoli) and Carcola che ve sfonno” (Rizzoli) all which quickly became editorial cases. On Wednesday, in the setting of Palazzo Marchetti, he will present his latest book, Er punch if he does with the right or with the left, a diary in images that retraces, with the usual sharp comedy, the main news and political events that have marked 2023. In previous books, the cover had been dedicated in order to Conte, Draghi, Meloni, while for this latest effort the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, was chosen for the cover.
The guest of the second appointment, scheduled for 13 June, again «Ai Conti», will be Marco Tarchi, political scientist and full professor at the Cesare Alfieri faculty of political science at the University of Florence. Tarchi will present his latest book, The Three Ages of the Flame. The right in Italy from Giorgio Almirante to Giorgia Meloni published by Solferino and written with Antonio Carioti. Andrea Zhok, professor of Moral Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Milan and author of the essay The profane inquisition and the kingdom of anomie, is expected on June 20th. On the historical meaning of “political correctness” and woke culture and, on July 2, the Marquis Fulvio Abbate.
