RFI, the leading company of the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Group, has awarded the tender for the executive design and execution of the works necessary for the construction of the so-called gate 5 and the demolition of the arch bridge foreseen in the project relating to the direct connection between the Port of Trieste and the Trieste Campo Marzio station.
Specifically, a new artificial single-track tunnel of approximately 80 meters will be built, which will allow the transit of any type of freight traffic, in particular intermodal and semi-trailers, towards the Port of Trieste, connecting the Pier VII gate with the arrivals area. and departures from the Trieste Campo Marzio station.
At the same time, the existing arch bridge will be demolished through a lifting and translation operation.
The interventions will allow us to increase the capacity of the Trieste Campo Marzio plant and improve accessibility between the Port of Trieste and the national railway infrastructure.
The executive planning and execution of the works will be carried out by PREVE COSTRUZIONI SpA
Total investment of approximately seven million euros, financed entirely with PNRR funds.
