“This work is worth eight million euros. Another piece of purification from Campolongo to Tusciano will then be completed in September, for nine million. With these interventions we allow purification as regards the coastal strip from Pontecagnano downwards. It is one of the objectives strategies that we had. Both interventions were financed by the Region with the development and cohesion funds, which have currently been blocked for a year by this irresponsible government”. Thus the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the plant in the Coda di Volpe di Eboli area.
The governor’s objective is to continue investing in water purification on the Campania coast: “Today we can say that almost 90% of the coastal strip of our territory is purified. We will soon have complete purification of the Gulf of Naples too where we have activated some purification plants that we have been working on for years. This is a strategic challenge that we are overcoming. In this area in particular we have to implement the master plan”, added De Luca.
There was no lack of a reference to the Government, for the diatribe on the failure to release the cohesion funds: “We could have had other construction sites open, other job opportunities especially in the South. When we are in Campania we have to fight tooth and nail. no one gives us anything. We hope to be able to sign the cohesion agreement by the end of June, the proposal of which the Region sent to the ministry on 11 October”. .
The reference to the Executive is caustic: “In this last week of the electoral campaign, you will hear more bullshit. I believe they will fly the last one today in the Council of Ministers on the waiting lists. It’s an immense ball, a hot air balloon. We’re used to it. Instead, we are here to complete concrete works, to implement, not to announce and talk and this must make us satisfied”, added the president of Campania.
Finally, a reference to the imminent opening of Salerno airport: “It is another miracle that I take the liberty of claiming as the Campania Region. We were the only large region that had only one airport. We managed to achieve this unification with Capodichino so we will have another development driver for the entire territory south of Salerno”, claimed De Luca.
